Preparation, Microstructure, and Interface Quality of Cr3C2-NiCr Cladding Layer on the Surface of Q235 Steel

In this study, a Cr3C2-NiCr cermet cladding layer was prepared on the surface of Q235 steel via high-speed laser method. The effects power, scanning speed, and overlap rate microstructure, quality, interfacial elements diffusion Cr3C2-NiCr/Q235 were studied. results show that there an obvious transition at interface steel, indicating had adequate metallurgical bond with matrix. Fe, Cr, Ni diffused distinctly between height width increased, while dilution decreased increase in power. maximum thickness about 50 μm for 6 mm/s sample, weld heat affected zone smaller, it shown productivity can be effectively improved. sample 40% exhibited best flatness. optimal 1500 W, mm/s, 40%, respectively.
